TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARKÂ DAY TRIP
OVERVIEW
The Tarangire National Park is a beautiful conservation area named after the Tarangire River that flows through it. This river, also known as the ‘river of warthogs,’ is a vital source of water for wildlife in the region, particularly during the dry season. The park boasts dense vegetation, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands and lush groundwater forest, making it a diverse and rich ecosystem.
One of the highlights of Tarangire National Park is its majestic elephant families, often seen congregating near the river. Alongside these gentle giants, visitors can spot giraffes, bushbucks and hartebeests. However, these animals are not alone, and their presence attracts an array of predators, including lions and leopards, adding to the exciting atmosphere of the park.
In addition to the stunning wildlife, Tarangire National Park also hosts the highest number of breeding bird species globally. As such, it’s a paradise for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.
