Kilimanjaro Climb Via Lemosho Route 8 Days
About This Trips
Lemosho Route Overview
The Lemosho Route is a western approach to Mount Kilimanjaro and offers the opportunity to visit the Shira Plateau and Caldera. This route offers a pleasant hike from Shira Ridge to Shira 2 Camp with low traffic until it joins the Machame Route. Climbers will encounter the southern circuit through Lava Tower, Barranco, and Barafu. The recommended duration for this route is eight days, which will provide more time for acclimatization and reaching the summit. Similar to the Machame Route, the Lemosho Route is a visually stunning and diverse route. This route is highly recommended as it offers a chance to spot an abundance of wildlife, such as Colobus monkeys, different bird species, and small jackals. These animals come over to forage during the dry season from the Longido game-controlled area.
