DAY 2: ARUSHA TO LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

On the second day, after an early breakfast, we will set off to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is a natural paradise, famous for its abundant birdlife and tree-climbing lions. The western border of the park is formed by the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment, while the eastern side features the shallow alkaline Lake Manyara. During the rainy season, thousands of flamingos flock to the lake. The park is also home to a diverse range of vegetation, from savannah to evergreen forest, and a variety of wildlife including giraffes, zebras, buffalos, and elephants. With a bit of luck, you may even spot lions lounging in trees. After an extensive game drive and lunch, we will head to Marera Valley Lodge in Karatu, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night.

DAY 3: NGORONGORO CRATER

On the third day, after an early breakfast, we will leave for Ngorongoro Crater. This natural reserve is a pristine wilderness that seems like a forgotten world, concealed by steep volcanic walls. It includes sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland, and glistening lakes and swamps. The crater was formed by a large volcano that collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago. It is famous for its geological wonders and being home to some of the densest populations of large mammals in Africa. You may see a wide range of wildlife on the crater floor, such as wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The endangered black rhino can also sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands. After an extensive game drive and lunch, we will return to Marera Valley Lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK TO ARUSHA

On the fourth and final day of the safari, after an early breakfast, we will depart for Tarangire National Park. This park is named after the Tarangire River, which is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. The park is known for its dense vegetation, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forests. It is also famous for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. Other animals you may see include giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, closely followed by predators such as lions and leopards. Tarangire National Park has more breeding species of birds than anywhere else on the planet. After an extensive game drive and lunch, we will head back to Arusha.
