Tipping Guided

At Call Tanzania Safaris, we pride ourselves on partnering exclusively with highly experienced safari guide-drivers who have a minimum of five years’ expertise. Many of them have even been featured as guides in National Geographic documentaries and are among the most accomplished safari guides in East Africa.

Our guides possess extensive knowledge on various subjects, including natural eco-culture systems, biodiversity, and wildlife habitats that you will encounter during your tour. They are also well-versed in the geological conditions that have created the unique eco-environment and landscapes you will witness, as well as the habits of predator and prey of the numerous species in the region. Moreover, they have a general understanding of the captivating traditional bush communities that reside in the African bush and Rift Valley.

Our guides are proficient in various languages, including English, and have received training in several safety procedures. They can promptly address any challenges that may arise in the rugged bush terrain.

We understand that the tour guide group leader plays a crucial role in ensuring that you have an excellent, secure, and well-informed safari experience. Therefore, it is customary in East Africa for safari guides to receive a portion of their pay through tips and gratitude from their clients.

Gratuities are voluntary and at your discretion, and they are typically determined by your level of satisfaction with the experience and your own cultural norms regarding tipping. As a general guideline, it is customary to give a gift of approximately $10 per client per day to the safari guide. This practice applies to guides who take you on our cultural excursions to their own communities as well.

At Call Tanzania Safaris, we want you to have a fantastic experience in our country, and our guides and drivers are dedicated to ensuring your satisfaction. Regardless of the amount of gratuity you choose to give, their ultimate satisfaction is derived from your enjoyment and the enrichment of your experience. Please note that any tips should only be given after the safari has concluded.
