Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be picked up and driven to your hotel in Moshi. Your guide will meet you and conduct a pre-climb briefing and equipment check. You will spend the night at your hotel.
Day 2: Umbwe Gate (1,800m) to Umbwe Camp (2,943m)
After breakfast, you will be driven to the Umbwe Gate at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. From here, you will begin your trek through the lush rainforest, with opportunities to see wildlife. You will reach Umbwe Camp for overnight.
Day 3: Umbwe Camp (2,943m) to Barranco Camp (3,976m)
Trekking along a steep ridge, you will enjoy stunning views of the Western Breach and Southern Glaciers. You will reach Barranco Camp, located in a beautiful valley with the Barranco Wall on one side and the Kibo massif on the other.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day at Barranco Camp (3,976m)
Take a rest day to acclimatize, explore the surroundings or take a short hike to Lava Tower (4,600m) for better acclimatization.
Day 5: Barranco Camp (3,976m) to Karanga Camp (3,995m)
After breakfast, you will climb the Barranco Wall, which requires some scrambling but is not technically difficult. From the top, you will enjoy a great view of the Southern Glaciers and the Heim Glacier. Continue to Karanga Camp for overnight.
Day 6: Karanga Camp (3,995m) to Barafu Camp (4,673m)
Trek through the alpine desert, crossing ridges and valleys. The views of the Mawenzi and Kibo peaks are breathtaking. Reach Barafu Camp, where you will rest and prepare for the summit attempt.
Day 7: Barafu Camp (4,673m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Mweka Camp (3,100m)
Wake up around midnight and start the summit attempt. The climb is steep and strenuous but you will be rewarded with a beautiful sunrise from the summit. After taking pictures and enjoying the views, descend to Mweka Camp for overnight.
Day 8: Mweka Camp (3,100m) to Mweka Gate (1,640m)
Trek through the rainforest, with opportunities to see wildlife. You will reach Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificate and celebrate your achievement. Transfer to your hotel in Moshi for a well-deserved rest and celebration.
Day 9: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
