Kilimanjaro Climb Via Marangu Route 6 Days
About This Trip
The Marangu route, also called the “Coca-Cola” route, is the oldest established way to approach Kilimanjaro from the southeast. It is preferred by many climbers due to its reputation as the easiest path to the top. The minimum duration for this route is five days, but the likelihood of successfully summiting within that time frame is relatively low. Adding an extra day for acclimatization is highly recommended, as it can increase the odds of reaching the summit. Marangu is the only route that provides sleeping huts in dormitory-style lodgings.

You’ll arrive in the late afternoon and have time to rest and acclimatize before dinner and an early night.
Day 3: Horombo Hut (3,720m) – Acclimatization day
Today is a rest day to allow your body to acclimatize to the altitude. Take a short hike to the nearby Zebra Rocks or Mawenzi Hut for some additional acclimatization before returning to Horombo Hut for lunch. You’ll have the rest of the day to rest and relax before dinner.

Take some photos and enjoy the views before beginning the descent back to Kibo Hut for a short rest and some food. Then continue down to Horombo Hut for dinner and a well-deserved rest.
Day 6: Horombo Hut (3,720m) to Marangu Gate (1,800m)
